Maximum possible degree of purification in combination with mineralization makes it possible to obtain ideally pure and tasty water useful for humans. The Geyser Prestige system is water from mountain springs at your home.
Membrane systems are widely used owing to the possibility of purifying water of extremely high hardness, more than 10 mg-equiv/l. With such water, the capacity of common ion-exchange materials is exhausted very quickly, which makes necessary their frequent regenerations.
The Geyser Prestige system has no competitors in the purification efficiency. It removes virtually all the known contaminants. A reverse-osmosis membrane separates water fed to it into pure water and impurity concentrate, which is drained off. This is due to the fact that the membrane pore size corresponds to the size of water molecules, whereas all the impurities have a considerably larger size.
The Geyser Prestige system uses the most advanced membranes produced by Vontron Company, with increased the operation life. This is the latest development with an additional protective layer, which allows the baneful effect of iron and hardness salts on the membrane pores to be considerably reduced, and thus the operation life of the membrane to be prolonged. Vontron membranes were certified according to NSF international standard. However, not all the microelements should be removed from water. The majority of physicians believe that fully purified water is hazardous for health.
Only with the Geyser Prestige system the natural quality is returned to the purified water owing to the use of a special mineralizer for reverse-osmosis systems. This mineralizer was developed by the Geyser Company on the basis of exclusively natural components, and it saturates pure water with useful calcium and magnesium salts. Thus, water purified with the Geyser Prestige system is close in its properties to spring water or thawed glacial water. Some models of the Geyser Prestige system allow selection of the water type with mineralization or without it. For this purpose, two-key tap no. 7 is used.
The pretreatment system of the Geyser Prestige filter uses cartridges of the Slim Line standard, which allows reliable removal of contaminants from the water being fed. Only cartridges of the Slim Line standard can assure high degree of purification and long operation life.

Pretreatment in the Geyser Prestige System
In the Geyser Prestige system water is pretreated with replaceable cartridges.
First step: cartridge for mechanical clearing, made of foamed polypropylene with the porosity of 5 μm. It protects the membrane from insoluble particles: sand, suspended material, rust.
Second step: CBC (carbon block) cartridge of compacted activated coconut charcoal for protecting the membrane from chlorine and organic compounds. Cartridges of this type have higher sorption ability than granulated charcoal. CBC cartridge efficiently removes chlorine from water and improves the taste, color, and odor of water. CBC cartridge passed NSF certification; it meets the world’s most stringent quality requirements. The cartridge porosity is 10 μm.
In regions with a high content of iron and hardness salts in water, it is appropriate to use in this step Aragon cartridge (ion-exchange polymer). It ensures better purification of water fed to the membrane. Aragon cartridge is the know-how of the Geyser Company. Aragon filtering material is a unique polymer of combined action, ensuring microglobular purification. It retains the finest mechanical particles and removes dissolved chemical impurities owing to the complex structure and the sorption and ion-exchange mechanisms. Metallic silver incorporated in the polymer prevents reproduction of filtered-off bacteria and viruses. When purifying water, Aragon changes the structure of the dissolved calcium and magnesium salts (hardness salts), exerting a quasi-softening effect. As a result, the content of aragonite, an assimilable form of calcium, in water increases by a factor of 10.
The unique property of all Aragon cartridges is that two mechanisms of scale elimination operate in them simultaneously: removal of hardness salts by the classical ion-exchange mechanism and quasi-softening effect (patent 2004138606/15). Water saturated with aragonite does not form a strong scale deposit on heating, and the deposit already existing on dish walls is broken down.
The limiting water volume purified with the cartridge is up to 7000 l, and with regenerations it can reach 25000 l. Aragon itself prompts when it becomes necessary to replace the cartridge, with self-indication of the end of the operation life: As the operation life comes to the end, the pure water flow rate sharply decreases.
Third step: CBC (carbon block) cartridge of compacted activated coconut charcoal for protecting the membrane from residual chlorine and organic compounds. The cartridge porosity is 10 μm.
The main purification of water in the Geyser Prestige system is performed with a Vontron roll-type reverse-osmosis membrane. The membrane porosity is 0.0001 μm. The pore size is comparable with the size of water molecule. Therefore, only compounds with the molecular size smaller than that of water, e.g., chlorine, can pass through this membrane.
Post-treatment charcoal cartridge
The post-treatment charcoal cartridge was specially developed by the Geyser Company for reverse-osmosis systems. It uses the carbon block technology. It improves the taste and color of the purified water and eliminates residual chlorine and unpleasant odor.
The mineralizer was developed by the Geyser Company on the basis of natural and environmentally clean materials. It restores the mineral composition of the purified water that is optimal for humans.

Choosing a model
The Geyser Prestige filter is produced in the following options.
The Geyser Prestige system is equipped with an accumulation tank, so that you can always have a stock of pure water.
Each step of purification is placed in a separate casing, and all together, including also the mineralizer, accumulation tank, and pump, are combined in a common system arranged under a wash-bowl.
Quickly dismountable connecters of the John Guest type made of hygienic plastic allow even an amateur to readily make all the required connections.
The pretreatment system of the Geyser Prestige filter is developed taking into account high extent of water contamination, typical of Russia. It protects the membrane from the baneful action of iron compounds, heavy and radioactive metals, and free chlorine.
The standard pretreatment is done with a mechanical clearing cartridge and then with two CBC cartridges of compacted coconut charcoal (carbon block) certified in accordance with the NSF International Standard. This is a classical pretreatment system for reverse-osmosis systems. It is necessary for ensuring the operation life of a reverse-osmosis membrane as long as 1.5–2 years.
The pretreatment quality can be improved by installing an Aragon cartridge on the second step. This will ensure additional protection of the membrane from the most baneful contaminant, iron, and thus to prolong its operation life. However, with installing Aragon cartridge, it will become necessary to attentively monitor the water pressure in the system, because plugging of the Aragon cartridge can lead to a drastic decrease in the system productivity. In this case, it is necessary to regenerate the cartridge immediately.
Permeation of water through extremely fine pores is rather slow. Its efficiency can be enhanced with a pump installed on certain models of the Geyser Prestige system. If the pressure in the water-supply network at your home is lower than 3 atm, the presence of the pump is the necessary condition for the system to operate properly.
The filter is connected in the stationary mode to the cold-water main-line, with a separate tap for purified water. All the parts required for connecting are supplied in the kit with the filter. A special adapter with a cut-off valve is arranged in the cold-water main-line. The drain line of the filter is connected to the sewage system.
Replacement of cartridges and replaceable filtering elements
Replacement of the cartridge in the Geyser Prestige filter is extremely simple and convenient. For this purpose:
Cut off water supply with a ball valve installed when connecting the filter.
Relieve pressure inside the pretreatment filter by disconnecting the plastic pipe at the filter outlet from the membrane inlet.
Unscrew the flask using the wrench supplied with the filter, remove the spent cartridge, insert a new cartridge in its place, screw the flask back—and the filter is ready for operation.
Post-treatment charcoal filter and mineralizer are replaced wholly together with the casing.
